About Comeback Site

This blog is about my journey of dealing with my problems and injuries getting back to drumming.

But still until now I learned and am continuing to learn so much about my body, mind and both in combination. All these things I would have never considered or thought about, if the following events hadn’t append.

It all started back in 2012. I developed knee pain on the inner side on my right leg. This is my main leg for drumming. But I could not use it anymore it hurt playing, walking standing. So I started using my left leg instead of the right for the Kick drum.

At the end of 2013 I developed pain in my right forearm and elbow during drumming, but I still continued playing.

At the beginning of 2014 I just woke up and my right shoulder was totally tensed. From now on shoulder problems were included. Also my forearm problem continued to get worse.

At the beginning of 2015 it finally was enough I had to stop drumming. The pain from the shoulder spread to my upper arm and chest. Sometimes I couldn’t lift my arm, because it hurt that much.

More Information on my Diagnoses, Symptomes and Treatment.

For each these problems or the problems in combination I visited various doctors, osteopaths and physical therapists. I got for every problem mostly different diagnoses, depending on the doctor.

On problem with the doctors is that they don’t focus on the entire body or listen to you. For example: I said to a doctor that I think my arm and shoulder problem are connected. He didn’t care because he either is going to look at my arm problem or my shoulder problem. If I wanted the other in addition checked I should make another appointment. Also if a doctor found a possible solution they stop considering other various factors which could cause my problems.

So I started to do more research by myself and now am trying to use this knowledge to treat myself. See more here: Self-Diagnoses, Treatment.
