Drumming and Meditation

Drumming:

Played really easy this morning practicing rebound strokes.

This evening I recorded another drum cover and I felt really great. I tried to cover this song a few weeks ago but I was to tense.

Today again after some takes I noticed tension in my forearms. I was playing a beat with my arms more up involving more the shoulder and a lot of movement causing my forearm to tense.

Also the takes before didn’t work as I wanted, especially two fill ins. So I notice another factor for my tension is trying things that don’t quite work yet in that tempo. I know I can play these fill in but with the pressure of playing them right and also to a song is always a different story.

So it is important not to push it and just enjoy.

 

Meditation:

Had a great one this morning on the train. Something I think I skipped the last times is to do some controlled full breathing before a session und just focus on the breath in the beginning. It makes the rest so much easier.

Also did a good session between the drum recording with autogenes training to relax and warm up my arms.
